I last used Beckett on Dec. 3, 2025. Three weeks later I attempted to make another submission but encountered the error. (see story)
After taking a break to work on finances I tried Beckett again this week but the error was still there.
I called the customer service number that I obtained recently after inquiring about an order via email. The first time I called the number earlier this year I talked to a human and had a great informative chat. (see story)
This time, different story. I could never get a human and the robots hung up on me.
So later after seeing Beckett post about their new look I messaged their Facebook page and asked how one is supposed to experience the new look if you can’t submit cards because of the error. Someone replied and said bear with us until we get the error fixed.
Well I tried a couple more times that week and again messaged. This time asked what their estimated time of repair is since it has been five months. I also asked how are people submitting if they can’t pay online and no one answers the phone.
Needless to say, no reply. The new way to do business now days is no reply or let a robot handle it.
So today I used the SGC website and made a submission. I chose the $15 option which is a 40-50 day wait window. Beckett is now a minimum 75 day wait.
I entered my cards and paid via credit card with out an issue.
Now the plan is to survive the pending tornado outbreak in the next couple days, get to the post office and get the submission in the mail.
Then the countdown begins to the return of the cards and prepare for a happy or sad reaction.
A couple of Michael Jordans cards are among those submitted along with an Alex Bregman rookie that will probably be sold to my Houston Astro fan friend.
I’m aware of some local collectors in my area who use SCG but I have never really like the look of their label and never thought I would use them. But I guess I will like it now since Beckett doesn’t seem to be an option.
This will make the third company I have used as I have also submitted to Degree. I like Degree and plan to use them again, possibly as early as this week.
So stay tuned to more grading stories and be sure to check out the list of cards for sale on the right hand side of this site. If you are using a mobile device, be sure to choose website view at the bottom of the site.
