Over the years Beckett has been my go to for price guides and other collecting information. So I when made the decision to try the card grading world, Beckett was my go to site.
So far I have made six submissions and four have been to Beckett with two going to Degree Grading.
I have received two submissions back from Beckett and have been happy. I have sold four of the cards for profit.
So a few days ago I decided to try and send off another batch. I plugged the information in to the Beckett website and pulled out the plastic. Followed the prompts but poof I got an error. It says “Error processing payment, please try again.”
I double checked my information and continued to get the error. So I decided to try another card and I got the same result.
So I decided it wasn’t meant to be that day and maybe the universe was preventing me from spending that money for a good reason.
So a few days went by and today I decided to try again. This time I used my Google Chrome Browser instead of Safari just in case it was some weird browser issue.
But once again, I got the error message. I attempted to call Beckett only to get a message that they are off for the holidays.
So again I decided this is happening for a reason. Well tonight I decided to do some research and I found a post on Reddit that suggests that this happens frequently. (see post here)
One person said they did talk to customer service and was told to use Internet Explorer.
Another person said that it clears up after a while and to keep trying, while another questions why they should do grading with a company that can’t process payments.
As for me, I’m perplexed.
I love Beckett and they are in my region should I ever want to drop cards off in person or pick them up.
But patience is not my strong suit and if I’m in the mood to spend money on grading cards I want to be able to do it when I want and not have a technology glitch determine when I can and can’t.
So Beckett grading if you are out there. Please kick off the New Year by fixing the glitch.
