It is the day after Christmas and somewhere out there, someone did not get a graded Troy Aikman football card because they were either too expensive or they just didn’t know they needed one.
Well today on Slab’em and Sell’em I have a 1990 Fleer Troy Aikman card up for grabs.
This is Aikman’s first post rookie year card. It is graded by Beckett, and yes it isn’t the perfect 10, but it is a 7 Near Mint.
Yes, seven is not terrific, but it is better than a five and just maybe there s someone out there attempting to collect this card with grades 1-through 10. You never know what collectors are searching for.
According to the Beckett Grading Registry, there are 101 of these cards graded with 9.5 being the highest.
Good news, one has been graded after mine and it got a 6.5. So this one is not the lowest grade in the Beckett collection.
Bottom line it’s not the best one out there, but it could be an affordable slab to add to your collection.
Based on the age of the card and the condition and the fact that it is Aikman, I think the card is worth $32 and not $1 like some sites suggest. If you disagree you might be a flipper and not a collector.
