I believe this is my first perfect Pick 8 as have I come close many times.
Last September Trout was part of a pick 8 lineup that I had that fell short after Kyle Schwarber failed me. (see story)
Then in October Dak Prescott blew my chance at a NFL perfect 8. (see story)
Then the day after Christmas Josh Giddy blew my chance at a perfect NBA pick 8. (see story)
But Saturday, Trout got it done.
I chose a simple category, hits.
Then I chose eight players from various teams that I thought would get at least one hit.
The lineup of Ronald Acuna Jr., Pete Alonso, Yordan Alvarez, Bo Bichette, Elly De La Cruz, Bryce Harper, Christian Yelich and Trout got it done for me. I bet an economical $2 for a chance at $10 or more. The bet paid off $108.01
I was very close to a second perfect 8/8 as Rafael Devers, Freddie Freeman, Aaron Judge, Ketel Marie, Julio Rodriguez, Giancarlo Stanton, Bobby Witt Jr., all got hits but my beloved Atlanta Brave Drake Baldwin, settled for a walk and no hit, costing me perfection and a small .46 cent payout.
In addition to the perfect PICK 8, I did get a 5/6 as former Brave Dansby Swanson failed me and went hitless. The bet still paid a $1.04.
Arizona’s Geraldo Perdomo failed me and cost me a perfect 5/5 instead I settled for a 4/5 and a $5.99 payout.
It was a nice rebound from the countless loser basketball lineups I have suffered through in recent weeks while waiting for baseball.
