Today’s Slab’em and Sell’em features another non-slabbed item that is 29 years old, new and unopened.
It is a 1997 Bowman’s Best special factory packs featuring two packs in the package. That is a lot of packs in one sentence. But hey you get the drift. It is a special package.
Each pack of cards contains three chromium cards and one other card that could be a mirror image, a laser cut or even an auto.
According to the set list on the back, autos in the set are Tony Gwynn, Paul Molitor, Derek Jeter, Brady Anderson, Tim Salmon, Todd Walker, Wilton Guerrero, Scott Spiezio, Jose Cruz Jr., and Scott Rolen.
I’m not going to lie, it is tempting to open this and see if there is an auto of the late great Gwynn. But I do not think I have the intestinal fortitude it takes to open the packs knowing that it could be cards of players like Seth Greisinger, Pat Cline, Calvin Maduro, and Ken Claude.
Yes those players are in the set and I don’t mean to take anything away from their hard work and skills that got them on a baseball card, but I think their card values are less than an unopened pack.
So I’m putting this up for sale so that the buyer can either, hold on to it, slab it, open it or sell it and if they discover an auto in it, I don’t wanna know.
