Bill Landrum TTM in the Wind

My through the mail autograph from former Pittsburgh Pirate Bill Landrum seems to have had adventure.
I sent Landrum a 1991 Studio Baseball card on Feb. 17.
On April 9 I found the card in my neighbor’s yard agains the house post marked March 2.
March winds have been full blast here in recent weeks so I have a lot of theories as to how the piece of mail may have got there.
The mailman dropped it and the TTM was dust in the wind until by luck it lodged up against my neighbor’s house until I found it.
OR
It made it to my mailbox and I dropped it as I retrieved the mail and blew to its resting place.
Whatever the scenario the self designed postage and address label caught my eye and the autograph is now home and resting with the others in my collection.

Triple Success from Former Detroit Tiger Jim Morrison

I hit the TTM jackpot with former Detroit Tiger Jim Morrison.

I sent Morrison a card and nine days later I received three autographed cards from him, mine plus two others.
Maybe I got someone else’s or maybe he is just kind, either way it is a good success.

Former Dodger Success, Mike Marshall

Former Los Angeles Dodger Mike Marshall returned my 1987 Topps card signed in just 16 days. This was my second attempt to get Marshall in a couple years.

My first attempt was a failure at a different address.

So far Marshall is batting a 1000 from his latest address in Vegas.

John Grubb TTM Success

Former Detroit Tiger John Grubb returned my 1988 Score card signed in a short 13 days.
Grubb is batting a 100 percent on returning autographs according to
However the news isn’t as good on Dave Righetti as I’m now 0 for 2.
I mailed Righetti a few years back and the card never came back.
I tried again this year and the mail came back return to sender.
He seems to be hit and miss, so maybe a third time will be the charm.

Throwing in the Towel on Some TTM Requests

Some TTM successes take time such as Bob Tewksbury who took 2,104 days to return my request and Keith Lockhart who took 1,436 days just to name a couple.
But some cards just never come back and the following cards are still gone.

Don Schulze
Like other fans I sent a request to Schulze at the Midland Rock Hounds address in 2013 after seeing recorded TTM success.
No success for Schulze has been recorded since 2014.

Steve Wilson
I sent a card to the former Chicago Cub pitcher in 2013 and the card seems to be long gone.
No success has been recorded for Wilson since 2013.

Tim Teufel
I sent a card to the former New York Met in 2014 to Jupiter Florida and it seems it became of victim of postage shuffle.
Teufel has success recorded from many addresses including minor league teams. The most recent success recorded is from Citi-Field. He will go on he retry list.

Davey Johnson
I mailed Johnson at the Washington National’s address in 2014 after seeing success recorded. My card did not fall into that category.
However there are many successes recorded for Johnson already in 2018 from a  Florida address so he too is on the retry list.

Willis Otanez
I mailed the former Baltimore Oriole/Toronto Blue Jay at the Long Island Duck address in 2014. There were no and still are no success recorded for him. I took a chance and so far it has not panned out.

Keith Lockhart Responds to TTM Request

It was a long wait, a 1,436 day wait to be exact but it was worth it. That is how long it took former Atlanta Braves and Kansas City Royals infielder  Keith Lockhart to return my TTM autograph request.

I mailed Lockhart on Feb. 1, 2014 and the card came back on Jan. 16, 2018. Considering the ups and downs his family has faced in that time span, I’m shocked the card came back, but absolutely thrilled that it did.
Thank You Mr. Lockhart.
