Today I was watching the Atlanta Braves take on the New York Mets, or rather the Mets defeat the Braves, when one of the Mets' announcers mentioned ice cream.
I’m a Braves fan but when the two teams play I choose the Mets’ broadcast team because I enjoy listening to them.
During today's telecast, Gary Cohen was talking about the fact that the Mets would be heading to Cincinnati to take on the Reds this week. He then said the best thing about Cincinnati is Greater’s Ice Cream and he highlighted the Blackberry Chocolate Chip flavor.
His co-announcers Ron Darling and Keith Hernandez asked questions and it was brought up that you can order it from anywhere. I think it was Hernandez who raised concern that the ice cream may be melted if you order it online.
I was sitting on my couch yelling no it is shipped frozen and it arrives frozen.
I tried Greater’s for the first time this year and it is now the only ice cream I want.
I live in Braum’s country and grew up on Braum’s but sorry Braum’s, Greaters gets my money now.
After watching the game and hearing the chatter about the ice cream I decided it was time to pull a pint out.
Tonight I indulged in Mint Chocolate Chip. It should be Chocolate Chunk because it is chunks not chips of chocolate in these ice creams.
Now I’m down to two pints on the freezer and it is time to order more.
I highly encourage all to listen to the Met’s announcers advise and try Greater’s.
