Judge and Ohtani homer on the same day creating fantasy baseball winnings

Today was a successful day on Draftkings as I ended a losing streak with just over $33 in winnings.

I know that is not big money, but I when you play small, double digit winnings are good.

My duo of Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees and Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers got on track and homered on the same day, paying $8.10 on a $1 bet. Hopefully these two will get on a run, as they are a safe bet to homer on the same day at least 2-3 times a week when both are hot.

Judge joined Kansas City Royal Bobby Witt Jr. in excelling in the fantasy point category, paying off $3 on a $1 bet on a PICK 2.

Ohtani is part of a trio that I picked excel in the fantasy point category. Toronto Blue Jay Vlad Guerrero Jr.,  Baltimore Oriole Gunner Henderson, and Ohtani did that, paying off $6 on a $1 bet.

I also chose a group of four to excel in the fantasy point category. Chicago Cub Alex Bergman, Philadelphia Phillies Bryce Harper, Boston Red Sox,Trevor Story and Los Angeles Angel Mike Trout all exceeded their set goal, paying off $10 on a $1 bet.

In the PICK 2 category, I chose  Atlanta Braves Mauricio Dubon and Oakland A’s Jeff McNeil to gain at least two bases and they did so, paying off $6.30 on a $1 bet. In fact nearly all the Atlanta Braves excelled in many categories. It was fun to watch them clobber the Cleveland Indians.

Today’s disappointments include missing a Perfect Pick 8 by one hit.

I selected Pittsburgh Pirate, Bryan Reynolds and the Phillies, Kyle Schwarber to excel in the fantasy point category, which they did to hold up their portion of the PICK 8. I added six picks to belt just one hit to round out the eight.

San Francisco Giants Willy Adames, Rafael Devers, Heliot Ramos, Harper, and Henderson, all came through with one hit or more. But one Giant let me down as Matt Chapman needed one hit. He even came to bat in the bottom of the ninth with a chance to complete the feat. With the count 3-2 he hit a fly out to end the game and end my quest for a perfect PICK 8. What would have paid at least $8 and I’m guessing a small bundle more, paid off .44 cents.

Another disappointment that could have been salvaged in the bottom of the ninth, was a trio I picked to get a combination of two hits, runs and or RBIs.

Boston’s Willson Contreras, Chicago Cub Seiya Suzuki and Henderson were my selections. Contreras and Henderson met the goal but Suzuki failed short. He came to bat in the bottom of the ninth with two on. He needed a combo of two things, a hit and a RBI would have sealed the deal, but he was walked and my chance at a winning trio walked away.

All and all not a terrible day, but a Perfect PICK 8 sure would have been fun to brag about.

If you don't want to play but just want to eat ice cream, then click the link below and order some. I tried the Black Cherry this weekend while watching baseball and it was the best.

As Toby Keith sang, "Getcha Some."
