My top fantasy football studs going into week six, 2007

Week six of the National Football League is upon us and it is time for fantasy players to begin finalizing week six choices.

I have played fantasy sports since 2002. During that time I have kept a record of their performance on my teams.

The following are my  best players for the past five years.

Daunte Culpepper remains my best producing fantasy player. He made his first start of 2007 two weeks ago and threw two touchdowns and ran for three more. He is predicted to start this week at San Diego.

I have selected him 21 times and averages 21.9 fantasy points.

Carolina Panther’s wide received Steve Smith is second on my list with an average of 21.29 fantasy points.

Third on my list is Super Bowl champion Peyton Manning of the Colts averaging 21.23 fantasy points.

Next is Philadelphia Eagles’ running back Brian Westbrook with a 20.26 fantasy points earned per game selected.

Fifth on my list is Washington Resdskins running back Clinton Portis with an average of 19.95 fantasy points. He did not score last week. I think that will change this week against the Green Bay Packers.

San Diego Chargers’ running back La Dainian Tomlinson is sixth on the list with a 19.81 fantasy points per game selected. Tomlinson did not score last week.

Randy Moss climbed into my Top-10 with a 30 point performance last week. Moss is seventh on my list with an average of 19.62 points. This week Moss and the New England Patriots will battle the Dallas Cowboys and Terrell Owens. Look for the two number 81s battle for top yardage.

Rams wide receiver Torry Holt ranks eighth witth an average of 19.54 fantasy points earned per game. Holt raked in 89 yards and a touchdown last week against the Cardinals.

Ninth on my list is San Francisco 49er Frank Gore with an average of 19.26 fantasy points.

Former Oklahoma Sooner Adrian Peterson rounds out the Top-10. He drops from second to 10th following a 112 yard performance against the Packers in week four. Peterson is averaging 19 fantasy points per game down from a 21.33 average. The Vikings return to action this week against the Chicago Bears.

Adan Vinitari remains my top ranking kicker with an average 10.17 fantasy points earned per game selected. This week the Colts are off so kicker Jeff Wilkens, who is averaging 9.75 points is my kicker.

The Buffalo Bills defense became my top-ranking defense last week with the assistance of Tony Romo. The Bills defense scored 33 fantasy points and now average 10.55 fantasy points per game. They are off this week so the Kansas City defense will be on my team.

My top fantasy studs for 2007 are Moss, Tom Brady, Brett Favre, Peterson, Dallas Clark, Derrick Mason, Portis, the Minnesota Defense, the Buffalo Defense and Jerricho Cotchery.

Chris Cooley and Muhsin Muhammad are my duds so far.

Keep in mind that nothing is for sure in fantasy sports, you never know when an injury will force a player out and a player in or when a coach will pull your guy.
