Hollandsworth, the 1996 National League Rookie of the Year, began his career with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1995.
In 2000 Hollandsworth dawned a Colorado Rockies uniform and later the Texas Rangers, Florida Marlins, Chicago Cubs, Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, and Cincinnati Reds.
He saw post season action in 1995 and 1996 with the Dodgers, and in 2003 with the Marlins. That year the Marlins defeated the San Francisco Giants and the Cubs to earn the right to take on the New York Yankees in the World Series.

In 2003, Mueller was voted as the American League Most Valuable Player.
In 2004, Mueller helped the Red Sox defeat the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series by recording six hits including two doubles, two runs batted in and four walks.
