Film a baseball card pack opening.
Opening packs of cards is something I have been doing since the 1980s. Back then no one watched others opening cards unless you were with a group of friends of family.
No it seems to be a sin to open cards with out filming the event.
So I decided to try this phenomenon with out the luxury of tip top video equipment. Just an iPhone and a paper clip container to lean it against.
So this video will not win awards for the most creative, best lighting or any other category, unless there is a closest to failure award.
But besides the lack of technology aides, I managed to struggle pulling the cards out of the oversized pack. Is this the sign of aging?
Following the struggles the phone decided to tip over creating a great black screen.
Instead of picking the phone up, I turned it off and continued on with a second video. So we have two videos on one pack. What other collector does that?
I continued to pull the cards from the Topps 2021 Series 1 pack. The top card of the pack is the Jacob DeGrom League Leader card #659 of 2021.
There is also a Joey Votto 35th Anniversary card with the Topps 1986 design, a Corey Seager World Series 2020 card and Topps 52 Francisco Lindor and Luis Robert cards and a Jo Adell rookie.
The video also shows me that I need to dust The Card Table.
So video one (and 2) of what I hope to make a regular and improved occurrence is in the book.
Enjoy the cards and the laugh.
