PHOENIX, Ariz. — It took 2,322 days, but two baseball cards mailed to former MLB outfield Chili Davis on July 15, 2013, returned home on Nov. 23, 2019.
I mailed the cards to the Oakland A’s address on that day. They returned postmarked in Arizona.
Needless to say I had given up on these cards. But again the saying never say never comes into play.
It is the second longest successful wait I have record for TTM autographs.
The longest wait still belongs to former Los Angeles Dodger Ken Howell. It took 2,755 days for his card to return home signed.
Bob Tewksbury took 2,104 days to return home for now the third longest wait. https://mlbttmautographs.blogspot.com/2016/12/bob-tewksbury-responds-to-ttm-request.html
B.J. Surhoff took 2,013 days. https://mlbttmautographs.blogspot.com/2019/03/bj-surhoff-autograph-arrives-after-2013.html
The Davis success bumps his success rate up to 59 percent on Sportscard Forum.
