TTM Success: Steve Buechele and Bruce Ruffin

Former Major League Baseball players Steve Buechele and Bruce Ruffin respond to through the mail autograph requests and are now a part of my collection.
During his big league career, Buechele played for the Texas Rangers, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Chicago Cubs.
In 1991 he played in the National League Championship Series with the Pirates against the Atlanta Braves in which he batted .304.
Buechele finished his career with 137 home runs hit off 113 pitchers including four off pitchers John Cerutti, Kirk McCaskill and Buddy Black.
On July 19, 1987, he two homers in a game against the New York Yankees  off of pitchers Steve Trout and Rich Bordi.
His next and last multi-homer game came on April 15, 1988 when he homered off of Jeff Sellers and Wes Gardner of the Boston Redsox.
In 2010, Buechele was named manager of the Frisco RoughRiders, a class AA affiliate of the Rangers located in Frisco, Texas.
It took 32 days to get a response from Buechele
Ruffin, a former pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies, Milwaukee Brewers, and the Colorado Rockies, responded in a short 24 days.
He made it to the big leagues in 1986 as Steve Carlton's replacement in the Phillies rotation.
In 1995, Ruffin pitched in the National League Championship series for the Rockies against the Atlanta Braves, striking out two in three innings.
He finished his 12 year career with 843 strikeouts and allowed 92 home runs to 77 different batters with former San Francisco Giant Matt Williams taking him deep three times.
St. Louis Cardinal Mike Heath was the first player to take him deep on June 28, 1986.
Ruffin currently resides in Texas and his son Chance is a pitcher for the Detroit Tigers.
