Autographs from MLB Legends Arrive

Update
Al Rosen died on March 13, 2015.
Don Newcombe died on Feb. 19, 2019
Carl Erskine died on April 16, 2024

The past few days at the mailbox have been good as some living legends have responded to through the mail autograph requests.

On Jan. 27, I sent cards to Carl Erskine, Don Newcombe, Dick Groat, Al Rosen, Davey Johnson, Ralph Garr, and Dave LaRoche.
Erskine and Newcombe responded in a short eight days, Groat, nine days and Rosen in nine days.

Erskine was a member of the Brooklyn Dodgers.
He spent his 11 year career with only the Dodgers and went to the World Series five times against the New York Yankees.
He was an All-Star in 1954.

Newcombe was Erskine’s teammate and also played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Cincinnati Redlegs, Reds and the Cleveland Indians. He played in three World Series with the Dodgers against the Yankess.
Groat played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, St. Louis Cardinals, Philidelphia Phillies and the San Francisco Giants.
He played in two World Series against the Yankees.

Rosen played his entire career with the Cleveland Indians and played in two World Series, one against the New York Giants in 1954 and the Boston Braves.

Rosen is a four time All-Star and was voted 1953 Major League Player of the Year.
These autographs truly represent baseball history and are meant to be treasured.

Also, in the mailbox this week was a Keith Hughes autograph.
Hughes played for the Yankess, Phillies, Baltimore Orioles, New York Mets and the Reds.
Like many, Hughes includes a brochure on adding Jesus to your life.
